Senior Software Engineer with a focus on backend and architecture

Your role in Digital Engineering

As part of our Software and AI Solutions department, you will join a team of developers and data scientists who work together to deliver practical and well-functioning software. The team values direct communication, mutual respect, and shared responsibility. We prioritize maintainability, transparency, and reliability in the solutions we develop.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems that support core business and scientific functions. The systems are used internally across the company, including in research, laboratory operations, pharmacology, and data analysis.

The role requires someone who can write reliable and maintainable code, take ownership of system architecture, and ensure long-term technical quality. You will work in close collaboration with other developers, data scientists, and internal stakeholders. The position involves a mix of hands-on implementation and architectural decision-making.

Your primary tasks will be to:

• Collaborate with stakeholders and product owner in designing the future software landscape at Gubra
• Lead the design and development of robust, scalable backend systems and APIs
• Collaborate with developers and data scientists to deliver integrated, enterprise-level solutions
• Drive architectural decisions and design of future software solutions at Gubra
• Share knowledge and support the professional growth of team members
• Develop software as part of the Software Solutions team

• Python (FastAPI) for backend APIs
• Typescript (React) for frontend (you'll collaborate with the frontend team, though the focus in this position is backend)
• PostgreSQL for relational databases
• Docker for local and production environments
• Linux servers and fully automated CI/CD pipelines for our DevOps environment
