Laboratory Technician (Laborant) with formulation expertise

Gubra is looking for a Laboratory Technician (Laborant) to support our compound preparation team working with formulations for both in-house drug discovery projects and for in vivo pharmacology studies for customers.

Gubra is an ambitious biotech company striving for excellence at all levels. We insist on doing things efficiently – and often differently - to reach the results we aim for. Our vision is to become leaders in the fight for a more sustainable and healthier world. We do that by facilitating the discovery of new medicine, and by acting and inspiring others to fight against the ongoing climate and biodiversity crises.

The Drug Profiling and Preparation department supports the Gubra drug discovery projects by delivering preformulation experiments and receptor assays for characterization of novel peptide drug candidates. Furthermore, and very important for this position, the department supports the Contract Research Organization (CRO) of Gubra with formulation of all test compounds for in vivo pharmacology experiments.

You have an interest and work experience with formulation of peptides and small molecules and strives for high quality work. You are a team-player, self-motivated, willing to learn new things, and can navigate and collaborate in an energetic organization. It will be seen as an advantage if you are able to have early working hours (e.g., from 6 AM to 1.30 PM) and are able to work during weekends (1-4 times/month) on a flexible work schedule.

Your tasks as Laboratory Technician are varied but include:

  • Support our CRO business and internal drug discovery projects with formulation of peptide and/or small molecule drug candidates for in vivo pharmacology experiments.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize procedures for formulations of test compounds.

  • Data processing and documentation.

  • Preparation of daily compound formulations during weekends.

Professional qualifications:

  • You hold a certified laboratory technician diploma or similar.

  • Have a genuine interest and work experience with formulation of peptides and small molecules.

  • Skilled within data handling and reporting of data.

  • Are committed to high quality data handling and reporting of data.

  • Have good communication skills in both Danish and English.

  • Experience with stability and solubility methods (UPLC, SEC, DLS) is an advantage but not a necessity.

Personal qualifications:

  • You are a true team player and eager to contribute to all workflows in the department.

  • Eager to optimize and automate workflows.

  • Keen to take on responsibility within your area of expertise.

  • Proactive and able to initiate, focus and deliver on tasks and projects.

  • Able to navigate and collaborate in an energetic and rapidly changing organization.

Please apply no later than October 24th, 2021 by uploading your motivated cover letter and resume on our website. We will invite candidates for interviews ongoing, so we look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible. If you have questions about the position, please contact Department Manager Anja Mosekjær Bengtsson (anb@gubra.dk).
