Laboratory Technician (Laborant) for LC-MS and bioanalysis

Gubra is looking for a Laboratory Technician (Laborant) to support our analytical LC-MS platform working both with both in-house drug discovery projects as well as advanced contract research assignments in bioanalysis and peptide characterization.

Gubra is an ambitious biotech company striving for excellence at all levels. We insist on doing things efficiently – and often differently - to reach the results we aim for. Our vision is to become leaders in the fight for a more sustainable and healthier world. We do that by facilitating the discovery of new medicine, and by acting and inspiring others to fight against the ongoing climate and biodiversity crises.

The Chemistry group supports the Gubra drug discovery projects and is intimately involved in the fine-tuning and optimization of peptide synthesis. We are experts in peptide purification and characterization, as well as peptide bioanalysis and metabolite identification by LC-MS/MS. You will join an interdisciplinary team of 6 scientists and 5 laboratory technicians that collaborates across the whole value chain of drug discovery in both internal and contract research drug discovery assignments. The group is part of a functional area comprising molecular pharmacology, pharmaceutical profiling and formulation, biomarker, and next generation sequencing competences. On a daily basis, you will work closely together with a senior scientist and fellow laboratory technician.

You have a strong interest and background in ESI-LC-MS(MS) analysis of peptides and small molecules. You have a flair and experience for technical maintenance and troubleshooting state-of-the-art LC-MS equipment. You are self-motivated, willing to learn new things and can navigate and collaborate in an energetic and dynamic organization. You take pride and ownership for delivering high quality data, are organized and thrive when working independently. At Gubra, we strongly believe in advancing science by continuously testing our hypotheses - not on paper but in the lab. As a laboratory technician in our Chemistry group, you are supporting this vision by taking ownership for the collaborative environment in the group and constantly striving for the delivery of high-quality data.

Your tasks as Laboratory Technician are varied but include

  • Working with and maintenance of several ESI-LC-MS(MS) instruments (f.e. Sciex 6500+, TFX-LC, Waters SQ detector, Thermo Exploris120, Vanquish Tandem UPLC or similar).

  • Bioanalysis of plasma samples containing small molecules and peptides.

  • Development of new ESI-UPLC-MS(MS) methods

  • Characterization and analysis of peptides by ESI-UPLC-MS(MS).

  • Support peptide purification and analysis

  • Smart-lab: working with our computational biologists, lab technicians and scientists to locate repetitive work processes that can be optimized or automated.

  • Data processing and documentation.

Professional qualifications

  • You hold a certified laboratory technician diploma or similar.

  • You have a genuine interest in peptide and small molecule (bio)analyses.

  • You have solid work experience and good technical knowledge with ESI-LC-MS and UPLC instrumentation.

  • You have experience with LC-MS data analysis and automation.

  • You are committed to high quality data handling and reporting of data.

  • You have good communication skills in both Danish and English.

Personal qualifications

  • You are a true team player and eager to contribute to all workflows in the group.

  • Keen to take on responsibility within your area of expertise.

  • Curious by nature, motivated by data and not afraid of technical challenges.

  • Proactive and able to initiate, focus and deliver on tasks and projects.

  • Able to navigate and collaborate in an energetic and rapidly changing organization.
