Gubra is looking for a highly capable and pro-active newly educated scientist to advance Gubra’s target discovery activities. The candidate will fill a newly established position in our growing Assay & NGS department with the aim of conducting a 3-year industrial PhD, already funded by Innovation Fund Denmark. The project is in collaboration with the PRIMETIME project, several hospital departments including Herlev Hospital, and Århus University.

The Assay & NGS department is an interdisciplinary team consisting of 7 scientists and 5 technicians. We deliver high-quality immunoassay and biochemical analysis as well as RNA sequencing data supporting customers, internal and partnered research projects with scientific input and data. We strongly believe in advancing science by continuously testing our hypotheses and trying to answer questions by conducting scientific studies in the laboratory. As Scientist in Assay & NGS, your tasks will include:
Conduct target discovery and other research activities, specifically within kidney disease.
Perform advanced RNA sequencing methods and bioinformatics data analysis.
Take part in establishment of technology for targeted delivery of gene modifiers to selected kidney cell types using gene knock-in or knock-out.
Perform and troubleshoot biomarker assays.
Perform data analysis, interpretation, and reporting of study results.
Participate in internal innovation processes and idea generation.
Work in a multi-disciplinary environment with in vivo pharmacology, histology, imaging and computational scientists as well as external partners.
A relevant life science M.Sc. degree (e.g. biology, biomedicine, biochemistry, bioinformatics etc.).
A strong scientific understanding of relevant disease areas, preferably metabolic diseases and kidney diseases.
Preferrable experience working with RNA sequencing, as well as biochemical- and immunoassays.
Preferably experience with gene expression analysis using programming languages such as R.
Strong literature search and scientific writing skills.
